David Joseph Williams, age 43, of Vermilion, passed away on March 31, 2026, at MetroHealth Medical Center following a tragic accident. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the community where he was widely known as a hardworking professional, devoted father, and passionate car enthusiast.
Early Life and Roots in Ohio
David was born on August 20, 1982, in Cleveland, where he spent his early years before settling in Vermilion more than 15 years ago. Growing up in Northeast Ohio helped shape the strong values that defined his life—dedication, loyalty, and an unwavering commitment to family. Those who knew David often described him as dependable, kind-hearted, and deeply rooted in his community.
Career in the Towing Industry
David began his professional journey with Goodyear Tire, where he developed valuable skills and a strong work ethic. Over time, he discovered his true calling in the towing industry and spent 13 years working with L&M Towing in Vermilion.
During his years in the field, David earned a reputation as a skilled and reliable tow truck operator. Colleagues and customers admired his professionalism, calm demeanor, and willingness to go above and beyond to help others. He took great pride in his work and continuously sought to expand his knowledge of vehicles and roadside assistance.
A Lifelong Passion for Cars
Beyond his career, David had a lifelong love for automobiles. He spent countless hours working on cars, attending car shows across Ohio, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts. His passion for classic cars and automotive culture brought him joy and fostered friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Devoted Father and Family Man
Above all, David was a family man who cherished every moment with his loved ones. He deeply loved his daughters and treasured the time he spent with his granddaughter.
He is survived by his daughter Julia Williams (Tyler Brady) of Vermilion, his beloved granddaughter Cecelia Brady, and his son-in-law Jacob Pickett. He is also survived by several cousins and Lester Mayer, who served as a father figure in his life.
David was preceded in death by his daughter Paige Marie Williams on March 6, 2026, as well as his parents, Larry and Maureen Williams, and his brother Bert Williams. The loss of both his daughter and his own life within the same month has made this an especially heartbreaking time for the family.
Funeral and Celebration of Life
A tribute reflecting David’s love for vehicles will be held on April 17, 2026. A tow truck and classic car procession will gather at Riddle Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m., departing at 12:45 p.m.
The procession will travel through Vermilion, passing L&M Towing, before arriving at American Legion Post #397, where a Celebration of Life will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Honoring His Memory
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses. Additional funds raised will help establish a college fund for his granddaughter, ensuring his legacy continues to support the family he loved so deeply.
